PULA – New Charter Base – On the island of St. Catherine in the Bay of Monuments in Pula, the marina Polesana was opened. It is a nautical port with four floating piers with 262 berths at sea and 42 berths on land.
The neglected area that was once an integral part of the defense system of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy will thus finally come to life.
The company Kermas Istra, owned by Danko Končar, won the tender in 2011. The investment, which includes the conversion of the dilapidated building into a hotel whose renovation is planned to be completed next year, is worth about 60m euros.
– We are proud to be able to open the marina, the booking is very good for now and we hope that it will continue. Katarina is an exceptional area where charterers themselves can take their boat out, clean it, what other marinas in the area lack, this marina does not lack. The reception is open, there will soon be a restaurant and a coffee bar, while the charter offices and other offices with shops and laundry are being equipped.
